Description Of Work:
Bioserv removed moldy ceiling drywall, cleaned and treated mold growing in attic, replaced drywall and insulation.
Steve returned my call promptly, showed up at the appointed time, evaluated the problem and bid on a solution. Work was scheduled within days, and a likable, professional team completed the job. Steve was very responsive before and after the work was completed. This is the way I wish all service companies operated!
Description Of Work:
Services provided were a very professional and helpful on-site analysis of bank-identified mold problems in an uncleaned (for many years) house, and the most cost-effective solutions.
Steve O'Conner of BIOSERV came quite promptly at my request to analyze the mold problems in a slab house. These resulted mostly from interior window condensation and its neglect for a number of years, and from a water pipe leak in a small area. No cleaning was done prior to his visit, and a wall had been opened up to illuminate the water leak damage. The costs of his professional remediation would have been beyond my budget, and his remediation team was too busy to do the job within my time constraints in any case. He told me what I would need to do to remediate the problems correctly. He suggested that I do that myself, and then call another mold company to certify that the house was OK (he would not be able to certify it himself). I was much impressed with Steve's knowledge and professionalism, and his openness in discussing the problems and solutions. He could not have been more helpful, and he absolutely refused any payment for the hour spent with me, and for the two hours in round-trip travel time.
Description Of Work:
BioServ Environmental Incorporated came out to do mold testing and remediation work in my home.
They were all very good at what they did. They did the job professionally and efficiently. The got the job done right the first time and they did not try to overcharge me for their services.

Description Of Work:
Provided containment while work was proceeding. Removed sheet rock basement wall and trim. Painted area with mold-icide. Sprayed area with mold inhibitor. Removed carpet padding. Treated floor with mold-inhibitor. Remove all materials. Clean up.
Our house has a finished basement with one wall at the base of the basement stairs that leaks and pools up at the bottom of stairs. Finally decided to do something about. Based on Angie's list recommendation, called BioServ (a local company) after we called another company (who wouldn't return our calls after first visit). Steve, the owner came by per his appointment, quickly assessed the effort and provided us with an estimate. Work would have started the following Monday, but we needed to put them off one week. Team of two showed up within 30 minutes of start time. They prepped the area with containment and HEPA filtration. They spent approximately 5 hours removing the sheet rock (heavy black mold), applying mold killer and inhibitor and cleaning up. Steve came by to check on the job after about 2 hours. He identified the offending leak (sump pump pipe wasn't glued, just dry-fitted). Offered to fix it gratis, but we didn't have any fresh cement (no biggie - 5 min repair for me). After Steve left, team finished up the work. Team was very sensitive to our families needs. They left the containment up so the mold-inhibitor which misted would not leak into the family areas as we have kids. All were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Team went over the place two or three times cleaning and then made sure we were satisfied with the job. Highly recommend this team. They seem to be very busy (which is good for them), but all took the time to deal with our problem promptly and professionally. As for cost . . we didn't shop around so it is hard to say how they compare, but if you figure, two guys for 5 hours each, plus Steve's time and all the expenses of a small business, I think the cost was acceptable.
Description Of Work:
An assessment of a basement water intrusion was made to determine if mold was present and what the required steps would be to fix the problem.
Steve is an incredibly professional and caring guy. After playing a bit of phone tag, we talked on the phone prior to the visit, and I explained the situation: a house we are under contract for showed up with high moisture content readings in the drywall, making us wary of a potential mold problem. We got the seller to cut holes in the drywall, and Steve agreed to come take a look to let us know the scope of the issue. Steve was running late the morning of the appointment, but called to let us know in advance, and offered to come back a different day. We were under a deadline, so we opted to proceed with a later start time. Steve took a look at not only the areas that were suspect, but the entire basement. He gave us his honest opinion and stated that his services were likely not required. He explained the issues associated with the basement, and laid out potential warnings, hazards, and mitigations. For someone whose business it is to fix mold problems, which many people are scared of/sensitive to, the candid recommendation that no work is required is incredibly honorable and appreciated. Steve is a top-notch professional who cares about his work and is not out to make a quick buck from any potential customer who walks in the door. If I wind up needing mold remediation services, he will without a doubt be the contractor I will use (and recommend to others).
Description Of Work:
A home inspector found dry mold throughout our basement about 2 weeks before we were scheduled to move. Our realtor did some digging for remediation estimates and informed us we might have to pay a huge amount of money to get the mold taken care of. When I found Bioserv, I felt incredibly fortunate because I was treated in a very courteous manner by Steve, who owns the company, and has years of experience. Best of all, I was given a quote that was about half the amount our realtor told us. The day of service, Bioserv arrived promptly and got to work right away. After prepping the walls and ceiling for treatment, they sanded the effected areas, sprayed something to freeze those spots, then cleaned up. The job took a day to complete. Bioserv removed all the materials they brought. They even hauled away a huge sectional sofa we had planned to take to the dump!
Overall, everything went extremely well. I ended up recommending Bioserv to our realtor, and he plans to refer them to any future homebuyers that may need mold remediation in our area.
Description Of Work:
Bioserv preformed a mold remediation in a basement area in my home. Prior to their work there was visible mold on the walls, ceilings and furniture.
Simon and Steve were fantastic. From the estimate to the actual remediation they were courteous and professional and never pushy. They worked with me, listened to the situation, suggested ways to remediate and then offered a very competitive price. The work was completed in one day and the rooms looked amazing. They also cleaned a few areas we found after the estimate. They even helped remove old furniture out of the room. I would highly recommend them.
