Testing for mold is most commonly performed either by testing the air or by testing the actual substrate where visible contamination is seen (i.e. wood rafters or sheathing in an attic).
Air is sampled and tested for mold most commonly through the use of spore traps. These traps filter a specific amount of air for a specific amount of time (sensitivity). This type of test reveals the type and amount of spore present without discriminating as to viability.
Testing of substrate for mold is usually performed using a culturable swab or nonculturable tape slide. These tests simply remove a portion of the contaminate material and are tested only for the presence of mold. These methods have little value other than to determine whether mold is present.

Bioserv team was fantastic. From the estimate to the actual remediation they were courteous and professional and never pushy. They worked with me, listened to the situation, suggested ways to remediate and then offered a very competitive price. The work was completed in one day and the rooms looked amazing. They also cleaned a few areas we found after the estimate. They even helped remove old furniture out of the room. I would highly recommend them.
