“Black mold” is normally the type of mold most people have come to associate with “bad” mold. Further, species in the Stachybotrys family are most commonly associated with the term “black mold.”
These are fungi that are found in very low numbers outdoors, often not registering at all in air samples. Their presence indoors offers to the professional the clearest evidence that a mold problem exists. Stachybotrys and others like Chaetomium, Fusarium and Trichoderma are considered “tells” or markers indicating the need for remediation.
Other black molds include Aspergillus niger which is one of the most common molds (along with Cladosporium) found in household dust. In general, common molds like Aspergillus and Cladosporium are considered safe if the levels are low—as measured against the outdoor air in or around the same location.
Bioserv Environmental Inc. specialists in the testing and evaluation of indoor mold both qualitatively and quantitatively. We also provide full remediation and restoration.

Customer FeedbackBioserv team was fantastic. From the estimate to the actual remediation they were courteous and professional and never pushy. They worked with me, listened to the situation, suggested ways to remediate and then offered a very competitive price. The work was completed in one day and the rooms looked amazing. They also cleaned a few areas we found after the estimate. They even helped remove old furniture out of the room. I would highly recommend them. |
